This Lenten textual series in Revelation focuses on biblical alarms to what is right and wrong in churches living out the gospel. A siren can refer to both a loud alarm and a mythical creature. As an alarm, it’s a device that produces a warning sound for an emergency. In mythology, a siren was a woman-like creature with a dangerous, seductive voice. Both motivate informed and intentional action. This series will alert us to both the dangerous seductions of sin and the inviting voice of our Savior, inviting us to “confess your sins to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed” (James 5:16).
